Another wonderful book signing experience took place last night at the most festive venue, The Bottle Shop, in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, a popular resort community about an hour west of Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The owner, Beth, was so gracious in allowing us to set up in her beautiful outdoor seating area where patrons enjoyed glasses of their excellent selection of quality wines and premium snacks.
We began with Lori signing which always draws attention. I managed to also sing a few songs as well as provide some playful prancing while Lori sang.
Soon, the tables filled up and after a little more singing, we began our book signing with a few moon-themed songs.
Followed by several readings from our novel, Hazel Moon.
The owner, Beth, was so gracious and at the end of the signing presented us with a complimentary bottle of "Luna" wine from their wine list.
When The Bottle Shop was about to close for the evening, we packed up our gear and headed to a performance of The Magic Show, which brought back many fond memories for Lori as she and our brother Mark put on a kid's version of a magic show in our garage. I sold popcorn during the shows and they sold tickets to people in the neighborhood!
Although the overall experience couldn't have been better...perfect weather, a lovely venue, responsive audience, a relaxed vacation-destination mood, but since we'd hoped to sell more books, we had to stop for a reality check knowing that at this point we've gone through most of our friends and family and now the hard work of tapping into the media to find an audience of readers we don't know has to begin.

So, we plan to keep putting ourselves out there and we'll see what happens!!
